The Farmer Veteran Coalition is a national organization assisting veterans and currently serving military personnel who are interested in careers in agriculture. The Arkansas chapter of FVC offers a network of farmer veterans in the state.

Armed to Farm trains farmer veterans how to run a successful business, access USDA resources, and connect with experienced farmers. The program offers one-on-one consulting and technical assistance, in-person networking events, and virtual learning opportunities.

The USDA assists farmer veterans by offering microloans, operating loans, and other loans to help buy or lease farmland. The USDA provides mentorship and guidance to farmer veterans.

Through its Small Farm Program, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff provides assistance to farmer veterans in 35 counties of the state. The program provides training, technical assistance, and counseling.

The Arkansas’s AgrAbility Project supports military veterans with disabilities who want to pursue a career in agriculture. The Project, through the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service, partners to provide practical solutions for farmers, ranchers, and their families.
